Halibut in the air fryer is such an easy recipe.

Air fryers are becoming one of many modern kitchen's go-to appliances. I've seen them displayed in the big box store, and heard people rave about them on Facebook. And while I am all for using modern technology to make life easier, I just couldn't understand what the fuss was about. What's so different about an air fryer vs any other appliance/method out there?

When I got one, I realized what all the fuss was about. Because... air fryer mozzarella balls and blooming onions.

It cooks things quickly, without heating up your kitchen with a big appliance. It's healthier- no oil is used, yet food can be crisp and juicy inside. And it makes delicious food that tastes infused with the flavor of whatever you're cooking it with. I have used mine non-stop since it arrived, and cooked everything from breakfast to dinner in that thing.

My first meal idea? Fish tacos!

A local market was having a sale on halibut, so I picked up a few filets for dinner. I wanted something easy to make, yet flavorful. And I already had everything on hand for the marinade.

Halibut is one of my favorite fish varieties (next to tilapia) because it's light and flaky, yet still filling. My kids don't like it much (kids!) so this particular filet was all mine!

I brushed both sides with a generous amount of olive oil, and added a nice tablespoon of minced garlic. I also sprinkled in some salt, cumin powder, and chili powder for flavor.

I cooked mine in the air fryer at 400 degrees F for about 5 minutes on each side. It probably could have gone a bit longer to get it crispier- but I was hungry and impatient!

The marinade gave the halibut great flavor, and kept it moist. It made a healthy meal that tasted amazing- perfect for picky kids or adults who are trying to eat well.

Is Halibut Good In The Airfryer

It's one of the best things to make in there. The air fryer is healthier than deep-frying, tastes like it was fried- without actually being fried!

Halibut is a very versatile fish that can be served up raw (sushi) or cooked. And it's packed with the good stuff- Omega 3 fatty acids! It's a great source of protein and minerals too, so I try to eat it as often as possible.

The marinade on this halibut is simply amazing. It's my new go-to recipe for many types of fish. You can also use it on shrimp or even chicken tenders! The cumin gives the fish an exotic twist, and the garlic adds a nice kick.

How Long Do You Cook Fish In The Airfryer?

Fish cooks very quickly, even without added oil. The air fryer should cook halibut for about 5 minutes on each side, depending on thickness. Test with a fork to make sure it's cooked through- if not, put it back in the air fryer for another minute or two.

Is Airfried Halibut Healthy?

When cooked in the air fryer, halibut is a healthy choice.

Traditional deep frying adds a lot of fat and calories to the dish, while cooking in the air fryer uses no oil at all! It can be a healthier option for someone who wants to cut down on fried foods at home.

What Temperature Should You Cook Halibut?

If you're cooking fish, the temperature is important. Any under-cooked fish can cause illness if eaten, so stick to the guidelines. Most halibut should be cooked between 325 and 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The lower the cooking temperature, the longer the cooking time.

How To Clean An Airfryer?

Clean-up is really easy for this recipe! Just use a paper towel to wipe the oil and bits off the halibut. Then wash the baking tray in warm soapy water and wipe it dry with a towel.

How Did You Make Your Airfryer Halibut?

I hope you'll give this recipe a try! It's perfect for serving up to the company, or just when you're craving something tasty and healthy at home. It took me about 10 minutes to put together, and I only used one pan for cooking.

How Do I Cook Halibut In The Airfryer?

Place the fish on the baking tray and then brush with oil or marinade. Cook for 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep an eye on it, and use a fork to test if it's cooked through.

I love cooking most kinds of fish in the air fryer because it retains so much flavor, yet it's quick and easy to make! It tastes like it was deep-fried, but it doesn't take much oil at all.

Do You Cook Halibut With The Skin On?

Most types of fish can be cooked with the skin on them- it's good for added flavor and texture. Halibut is especially delicious like this!

What Is The Best Way To Cook Halibut?

The best way to cook halibut depends on your recipe and how you want it cooked. You can grill, sear, deep-fry, poach or steam it.

Which Is Best: Airfrying Or Baking Halibut?

I prefer baking over frying most types of fish for two reasons- it's healthier and takes less time than frying. You can cook halibut in the oven using a similar method as this recipe. BUT- air frying is different. It's healthy, easy, and delicious.

How Do You Cook Halibut Without Drying It Out?

Fish cooks very quickly, even without added oil. The air fryer should cook halibut for about 5 minutes on each side, depending on thickness. Test with a fork to make sure it's cooked through- if not, put it back in the air fryer for another minute or two.

Should I Put A Breading On My Halibut?

Fish is delicious without a breadcrumb coating. It will taste just as good, and be way healthier!

Does Airfrying Keep The Flavor In?

Yes- cooking in the air fryer locks in flavor and makes the fish extra tasty. It's something you can't do with other frying methods.
